Many public and private institutions find it very difficult to respond to changes (and the increasingly rapid pace of change) that are taking place all over the world.  These organizations are stuck in their institutional thinking with respect to their solutions concerning global and local issues and problems like inequities, discrimination, famine, poverty, pollution and the like. Theory U utilizes a method know as "presencing" to connect people to the deepest source within themselves in the present moment to allow inner knowledge and wisdom to emerge to address many of the deeply rooted challenges we face in the world today.  Theory U provides the framework and method to accomplish this awareness-based change.  It has been found to be a highly effective method to facilitate change in many types of institutional, personal and situational settings.

The World Café is a powerful social technology for engaging people in conversations that matter, offering an effective antidote to the fast-paced fragmentation and lack of connection in today’s world. Based on the understanding that conversation is the core process that drives personal, business, and organizational life, the World Café is more than a method, a process, or technique – it’s a way of thinking and being together sourced in a philosophy of conversational leadership.

The Deep Canvass Institute trains volunteers on how to listen without judgment, share heartfelt stories that can bind us together, and process conflicts in ways that result in cultural, social, and political shifts.  By practicing compassion, deep listening, and democratic values at a mass interpersonal level, they contribute to building institutional cultures where people can sustainably engage across differences.

The Connection Partners facilitate change through effective networking and engagement with community, government and business decision makers.

The Connection Partners are dedicated capacity guides who practice individual and group learning as continuous, essential components of change. We recognize the intraconnections* between inner and outer actions. No matter how brilliant one may be, a person, organization or community cannot address today’s complex intrarelated* challenges alone.

The Garrison Institute is part of an emerging field of innovative changemaking organizations working to apply the wisdom that arises from contemplation to new action strategies for transformative social and environmental change.

It’s about bringing disparate elements together, finding common ground, and taking collective action for the common good. It’s about leveraging the ability of contemplative practices to hone skills and insights, combining them with new learnings from science, and weaving them collaboratively into new strategies for social and environmental transformation.

Humanity’s Team is a global non-profit organization focused on helping people throughout the world awaken to the interconnectedness—or Oneness—of everything in the Universe, so they can embody that awareness in every aspect of their lives. Everything they do and provide as an organization is for a singular purpose: to support people on their conscious journey so that together we can create a sustainable Earth and flourish at every level of life.

Climate psychology is concerned with the emotions, and the social and mental processes that have contributed to earth's ecological and climate crisis, and our responses and processes of adaptation to it.

Time Banking

The Tampa Bay Timebank is a community network where neighbors exchange skills, services, and support without using money. Instead of dollars, we use time as our currency! For every hour you spend helping someone (whether it's gardening, tutoring, repairs, or a ride to the store), you earn one Time Credit. You can then use that Time Credit to receive help from anyone else in the network.

It’s a simple, powerful way to:

  • Build connections

  • Share skills

  • Support your community

  • Value every person’s time equally

OUR MISSION: To support the growth of a time-based community that teaches its members to exchange goods and services without the exclusive use of cash.

OUR VISION: We envision a city where the time and resources of ALL PEOPLE are equitably valued as a community asset.

OUR FIVE CORE VALUES:

  • ASSETS - Everyone has something to give. We are an asset-based society. Everyone's time is valued equally. We are the expression of abundance, and we share what we LOVE to do with others.

  • REDEFINING WORK - The market economy says the more demand there is on a product or service, the higher the cost or value of that item. Conversely, things which are plentiful, have little or no value. We value all work here, especially work that money doesn't usually pay for like building strong families, revitalizing neighborhoods, making democracy work, neighborly favors and advancing social justice. Time is our currency. Time spent doing tasks are what is recorded, or credited.

  • RECIPROCITY - Each exchange is a 2-way street with both a giver and a receiver. You can't give without someone receiving, and we value both giving and receiving equally. We practice reciprocity in our community by looking at our accounts and making sure we give AND receive on a regular basis. A one-way extension of resources is not always sustainable.

  • COMMUNITY - A supportive, loving community (or network) is built through the equitable sharing of goods and services. (We refer to this as Social Capital)

  • RESPECT - Just like Assets, EVERYONE deserves respect, and everyone is respected for where they are in the moment, not where we hope they will be at some future point in time.
