Opening the Heart

The heart is more than a muscle, more than a pump. The heart is the center of the human energy field. It connects the lower three energy centers (the earth chakras) with the upper three ( the human and Divine chakras). Energy from the earth which is rising, connects with the downward flown from above. Imagine the point of contact between the body of Adam and the outstretched finger of God in Michelangelo’s famous Sistine ceiling image. That pinpoint of contact is the heart.
Where there is a flow of electrons (electricity), there will be a magnetic field generated that is at right angles to that flow. The magnetic field generated by the heart’s energy is measurable up to 15 feet beyond the surface of the body (and probably far more).
If you “live” in your head, in your lower chakras, or otherwise neglect your heart, you may develop heart “problems”, like stiffening of the coronary arteries, floppy or constricted heart valves, cardiac arrhythmias (irregular beats). Any of these could kill your physical body.
Many doctors still believe in materialism (physicalism), where the ONLY contributors to disease are physical factors - cholesterol levels, inflammation, lack of exercise, etc.
The heart also suffers from neglect. If you work all the time and can’t take off to be with your loved ones, whether partner, child, parent or pet, your heart will languish from neglect and lose energy. This can manifest as depression, anxiety or other negative emotion, due to blocked energy flow. If you receive love (and we all do from Higher Source and the Earth both), even from a dog, and fail to return it in kind and in abundance, that energy can stagnate within us and turn sour. There is no judgment in this, it is simply a mistake made from ignorance. That’s why you are reading this now.
Regret can follow years of such neglect when confronted by the fact of death with its seeming finality and no chance to make up for your mistakes.
Do it now. Drop regret, drop being angry at others, and most of all, at yourself, - and go forth draped in love. Look for ways to show the people around you, the people at home, at work, in the neighborhood, - on the street, - that they are valued by you. Practice doing this beginning today. The more you try, the better you will feel about yourself. Smile a lot.
The sun shines equally on all, giving life support to this planet. Choose to be a better human, a healthier and happier human and let go of self judgment first, then judgment of others. Your heart requires a free flow of love to be content and healthy. Become the love you need.
